Join our team! Mudd Insurance & Risk Advisors is currently seeking a Customer Service Representative (CSR) with experience in customer service, administrative tasks, and a passion for helping others. As a CSR, you will have the opportunity to assist agents with new and existing business, provide administrative support to the agency, and help grow the business through marketing strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Create a positive initial impression for the agency, whether it's through in-person meetings, written correspondence, or phone calls.
  • Building and maintaining solid connections with both current and potential clients.
  • Answer telephone calls promptly, efficiently, and in a professional manner.
  • Provide assistance and support to clients, which includes processing claims, handling documentation, and resolving inquiries and concerns.
  • Provide clients with information about products or services using knowledge of business and industry.
  • Execute administrative tasks for the agency following the company's standard operating procedures.
  • Handle business inquiries, renewals, cancellations, and other requests from the agency management system with prompt, efficient, and professional follow-up.
  • Enter notes about client interactions into the agency management system and maintain files.
  • Generate insurance quotes, compare renewal options, and provide necessary documentation as needed.
  • Ensure that all policy updates and account information are entered accurately.
  • Assist clients by answering their billing questions and providing them with detailed information about billing procedures.
  • Contact the client, producer, and carrier underwriters to address any inquiries or concerns related to policies and coverage.
  • Gather, organize, and oversee data related to account renewals.
  • Manage incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail according to established procedures, which includes managing courier items.
  • Complete Evidence of Insurance requests.
  • Supports and assists Insurance Agents as requested.
  • Work with the creative team to come up with new marketing plans, like social media and ads.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, marketing strategies, and best practices.

Required Skills:

  • Ability to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products.
  • Possess exceptional skills in customer service, building relationships, self-motivation, problem-solving, and working independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Outlook, and Excel is a necessity.
  • Willingness to learn, be intuitive, and be coachable. Additionally, having an aptitude for learning new programs and skills is essential.
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude and excel in building strong relationships with others.
  • Experience working with different insurance carriers and working directly with underwriters is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Prior experience with client relationship management software and agency management software is preferred, but it is not mandatory.

Required Education & Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or finance is preferred, or an equivalent amount of work experience.
  • Minimum 1-3 years independent agency or retail broker experience preferred but not required.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in customer service, communication skills or account management.
  • Property & Casualty, Life & Health Insurance license preferred but not required (Candidate must be motivated to obtain a license within 90 days - company will pay for training and license).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $19.00 per hour
